Published Auckland callout fees run from $40 to $100, and one large operator charges the equivalent of an hour and a half of labour just to arrive. We charge for the hours we work and nothing else.

We quote a rate and an honest estimate of hours, and we charge for the hours we work. There is no callout fee, no fuel levy, no stair charge and no fee for a heavy item we already knew about. If something turns up on the day that neither of us expected, we tell you what it does to the total before we lift it.
"They said they were insured, then said I wasn't covered."
We tell you exactly how your things are protected physically, and we tell you to check your own contents policy for transit cover, because plenty of New Zealand policies exclude it. That is more useful to you than a badge on a website.
"Everything arrived scratched."
Blankets on every piece of furniture, not just the pieces you point at. Shrink wrap on upholstery. Glass on edge. Straps on everything in the truck.

How your things are protected
Physical protection first, because that is what actually stops damage.
Wrapped before it moves
Every piece of furniture gets a heavy moving blanket. Upholstery gets shrink wrapped. Mirrors and glass travel on edge, wrapped and boxed.
Strapped to the Loading Code
New Zealand's Truck Loading Code requires forward restraint equal to the full weight of the load. A truck loaded properly doesn't shift when a car pulls out in front of it on the Northern Motorway.
Both houses protected
Floor runners and doorway protection go down at both ends before anything is carried, because most moving damage happens to the building rather than the furniture.
Two things worth doing before moving day
- Check your own contents policyMany New Zealand policies exclude goods in transit, and some exclude loading and unloading specifically. It takes one phone call to find out which yours is.
- Carry the irreplaceable things yourselfJewellery, passports, hard drives, the photo box. Not because we expect a problem, but because no payout replaces them.

How much do movers cost in Auckland?
Two movers and a truck run between $90 and $180 an hour across Auckland, depending on the company and the truck size. We charge $120 + GST, which is $138 including GST, with no callout fee. A one-bedroom flat usually takes two to four hours. A three-bedroom house usually takes five to seven.
Do you charge a callout fee?
No. Plenty of Auckland movers charge between $40 and $100 just to arrive, and one charges the equivalent of one to one and a half hours of labour. We charge for the hours we work and nothing else.
Is there a minimum charge?
Two hours min, then we bill by the hour. If your job takes two hours and ten minutes, you pay for two and a half.
Do you charge more on weekends?
No. Some Auckland movers step their rate up from Thursday. Ours is the same every day.
How far in advance should I book?
A week is comfortable. Two to three weeks if you’re moving at the end of the month or over a long weekend, because that’s when everyone else moves too. We do take same-day and next-day jobs when we have a truck free, so ring us anyway.
Do you move on Saturdays and Sundays?
Yes, and evenings and public holidays. We’re available 24/7 and the rate doesn’t move.
What areas of Auckland do you cover?
All of it. North Shore, Central, West, East and South, plus Rodney and Franklin. We’re Shore-based and we don’t charge extra to cross the bridge.
Do you take apart and reassemble furniture?
Yes, and it’s in the hourly rate. Beds, dining tables, flat-pack wardrobes, desks. Bring the allen keys if you have them, though we carry our own.
What won't you move?
No. Some Auckland movers step their rate up from Thursday. Ours is the same every day.
Do I need to be there on the day?
Someone does, at both ends, to point at things and to sign off. If that’s not possible, tell us at booking and we’ll work out how to run it.
